Fluted spear points, Fulton County.

Paleo-Indian is the first period of Native American culture in Illinois. Native Americans arrived here at least 12,000 years ago. They left behind distinctive spear points and other stone tools at camp sites. Archaeologists have yet to date these campsites. However, similar spear points have been found elsewhere in North America in 10,000 to 12,000-year-old deposits. Who were Paleo-Indians, and where did they come from?
