Tramea lacerata (Black Saddlebags)
Total length = 55mm male
The Black Saddlebags is easily recognized by its large black marking on the hindwings. There are distinctive white spots at the base of the abdomen, which has rows of yellow spots down it.
This species patrols ponds, lakes, and rivers. It occurs commonly from the Ohio River to the shores of Lake Michigan.
