Solidago missouriensis (Missouri Goldenrod)
Missouri Goldenrod plant grows in dry, open prairies and fields along spreading rhizomes. The alternate leaves are narrow and sometimes toothed near the tips. Lower leaves are longer than upper leaves. Sometimes leaves fall during flowering season, which is midsummer to late summer. Yellow flower heads consist of long clusters of 1/4" ray flowers and 1/8" disk flowers along a stalk.
