Pycnanthemum tenuifolium (Slender Mountain MInt)
Slender Mountain Mint grows in dry prairies, pastures, and fields. Plants grow to three feet tall on square stems. This specimen shows how leafy the stems can be, with branching off the main stem. Each leaf averages less than 1/4" wide and two inches long. The flowers cluster densely at the top of the stem. Individual white or lavender flowers have a 1/8 inch corolla, which is sometimes spotted purple. It blooms from late spring to summer.
