Potentilla arguta (Tall Cinquefoil)
Tall Cinquefoil grows on dry prairies and in dry woods. The name refers to the five (to seven) toothed leaflets that make up the pinnately compound leaves. The plant grows two to four feet tall. Six-petaled white flowers appear in June and July in clusters at the top of the stems.
