Desmodium canadense (Showy Tick Trefoil)
Showy Tick Trefoil gets its common name because of its showy purple flowers, its sticky fruits that stick to passersby, and for its leaves made up of three leaflets. The plant grows in moist to dry areas in prairies and pastures. It grows from two to four feet in height. Blooms appear in mid-to late summer.
