Leaves are pinnately compound with from 13 to 31 leaflets that are oblong and reflect that this plant is in the pea family. Flowers are greenish-white, clustered into a tall form called a raceme. Each flower has one 3/4" hooded petal over two side petals. The plant blooms in summer.
