Asclepias viridiflora (Green Milkweed)
This specimen of Green Milkweed shows opposite wavy-edged leaves and flowers clusters sprouting from several leaf points on short stalks. The greenish flower clusters are rounded and thick with 25 or more individual stalked flowers of five petals each. Green Milkweed grows in dry or sandy prairies and blooms in late spring through midsummer.
