Carborundum tint on paper, circa 1935

To make a carborundum tint print, the artist grinds silicon particles and mixes them with glue to make a paste that paints onto the plate. When it dries, the artist applies ink, wipes off the excess, and prints the plate. A different plate is prepared for each color.
