The United Specialities Company produced "a line of wheel goods for juveniles" that included scooters and wheelbarrows. A scooter like this one cost $2.10 in 1933; a fancier one with a bell, brake, and rear mud fender cost $3.79. Advertised as a "great muscle developer for children 4 to 15 years of age," they could "cover from 14 to 18 feet on good pavement with no more effort than an ordinary step." Though they came in many colors, red was definitely a favorite.
