Made by George Borgfeldt and Co., New York, NY
Wood, plastic, paint
The lovable creature, Mickey Mouse, was an instant success in the year 1928, when he was first featured in the movies "Plane Crazy" and "Steamboat Willie." Less than three years later, George Borgfeldt, one of America's most successful doll manufacturers, recreated Mickey in toy form. This little wooden Mickey and a companion Minnie were reportedly the first toys made to represent Walt Disney's most famous cartoon characters.
