William Dellert is the son of a meat cutter in Springfield. William started out his career as a clerk in Broadwell's Drug Store in 1917, living with his parents at 1229 E. Cook Street. In 1918 he married Vera and took a job as a teller at the Illinois National Bank. He and Vera rent part of a house at 542 South Second Street from a lawyer, John S. Schnepp. The young couple have decided that they want a house of their own. |
