Who was Ambroise Moreau? |
It is 1748 and Ambroise Moreau and his wife, Jeanne Paule, want a table for their home in Prairie du Rocher. Ambroise owns a small farm. This year his farm has produced enough for his family to live on, plus surplus wheat worth 10 livres* that can be traded for a table. |
*Livres, like our dollars, were used to determine the worth of goods and services in colonial Illinois.
