10th Annual Eagle Days Festival Art Competition

The 10th Annual Eagle Days Festival Art Competition sponsored by Mason County Arts Council, Fulton County Arts Council, Dickson Mounds Museum, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Havana Public Library, Emiquon Audubon Society, and The Nature Conservancy is now open to all students in Grades 1-12 in Mason and Fulton Counties. Students of private art studios and home schools are welcome to participate. Deadline for completed artwork is January 13, 2010.

The competition categories are 2D, 3D, and poetry. Students will be divided into three groups by grade level for each art category: Group I, Grades 1-4; Group II, Grades 5-8; Group III, Grades 9-12. Entries are due at Dickson Mounds Museum on Wednesday, January 13 and 2D art and poems may be mailed to the Museum. Three-dimensional artwork must be delivered to the Museum between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Winners will be notified the week of January 25, 2010, and will receive their awards at a special recognition ceremony to take place at Dickson Mounds Museum on February 6, 2010 at 4:00 pm. All entries will be displayed at Dickson Mounds Museum beginning February 6 through March 1, 2010. Three-dimensional artwork should be picked up from the Museum before Monday, March 8, 2010. Two-dimensional artwork and poetry will be returned to the schools by mail.

Information, entry forms and judging criteria have been mailed to all the schools in Mason and Fulton County.
