Gräfenroda--Dornheim, Koch & Fischer
Founded in 1856, this porcelain factory produced doll heads, figurines, and
other items in Gräfenroda, Thuringia, Germany. Although most of the doll
heads were unmarked, one marked doll head has provided clues that have linked
this company with several other popular heads. The faces of these dolls have
thin bent noses and similarities in the painting of the faces. These dolls
usually have applied porcelain leaves and flowers that have been molded
separately from the head. The firm stopped production of doll heads in 1913 but
continued in business through the 1930s.
